The Flavel Centre Trust.

The Flavel is the commonly used name of the “Flavel Centre Trust”, a company limited by guarantee with charitable status. Its registered office is: The Flavel, Flavel Place, Dartmouth, Devon TQ6 9ND.

The Flavel Centre Trust owns and manages the freehold land and buildings in which the Flavel operates.

 

The Aims of the Trust are:

The advancement of the education of the public in the arts, particularly, but not exclusively, the performing arts

The advancement of the education of the public by the provision and maintenance of a public library and associated facilities.

Any charitable purpose for the general benefit of the public.

 

The Board of Trustees consists of the following members.

Keith Pockett – Chairman

Simon Baker – External Relations

Pam Braakenburg – Volunteer recruitment

David Chapman – Chairman of Management Committee

Helen Deakin – Artistic development, with a special brief to develop classical music.

Christine Freeman – Treasurer

Alan Fryer – Compliance

Ian Phillips – Artistic development

John Stephenson – Premises management

Doug Twigg – Fundraising

Spencer Wigley – Company Secretary

 

Management.

The Board of Trustees meets bi- monthly (or more frequently as required ). A Management Committee drawn from Trustees and Staff meets monthly to guide and oversee the operation of the Flavel.

Committees are set up as required.

A Management Advisory Committee drawn from various sections of the local community meets three times a year to provide a working forum to ensure the day-to-day operational management of the Flavel meets the needs of local Societies, Clubs and other users.
